Rumors and Speculation: Is Diablo IV Headed for Nintendo Switch?

As one of Blizzard's most beloved action RPG franchises, many fans are left wondering if the highly anticipated Diablo IV will ever grace the humble Nintendo Switch console. Unfortunately, as of February 2023, there seems to be little hope on that front.

In a recent update from sources close to the development team at Activision-Blizzard (Diablo's parent company), it appears that plans for an official release of Diablo IV on the Switch are currently being put on ice - or perhaps even indefinitely shelved altogether!

This news will likely come as no great surprise to long-time fans who have seen numerous other major titles such as Zelda and Mario fall foul of Nintendo's notoriously strict hardware requirements. The Switch simply cannot compete with its larger cousins, the PS5 & Xbox Series X/S, when it comes down to raw processing power - a fact that has led many industry insiders to question whether even AAA-grade games will ever truly be possible on this diminutive yet beloved piece of gaming history.

However, before we give up all hope entirely! It's worth noting that there are still glimmers of light peeking through the darkened corridors of Activision-Blizzard HQ. Afterall, who would have thought just last year that Diablo III: Eternal Collection would suddenly appear out nowhere?! (Spoiler alert - nobody). So perhaps we should remain optimistic and keep our fingers crossed for an unexpected surprise announcement at E3 2024? Stranger things HAVE happened after all... or so they say!
